A 3-YEAR-OLD boy who was seriously burned by lime mortar died Monday after three days of emergency treatment.
The boy, Yang Hao, died at 2:38 a.m. due to multiple organ failure, doctors said. The boy accidentally fell into a lime tank in Zhukeng Community, Pingshan New Zone, on Friday and suffered 95 percent burns on his body. His father, Yang Xinbing, who jumped into the tank to save the boy, is in a serious condition.
The tank operator, Lin, paid 300,000 yuan (US$46,200) to the Longgang Central Hospital for Yang s surgery.
Police have urged Lin to return to Shenzhen to assist investigation.
