Car fire
A CAR was destroyed by fire on Donghuan Road 1 when it was waiting for a traffic light in Longhua, Bao an District, yesterday morning. The driver, whose identity was not known, escaped from the car and was not injured. Traffic was halted for 20 minutes.
Tin theft
FIVE workers at an electronics factory in Pingshan New Zone were detained Tuesday for allegedly stealing more than 70kg in tin bars, with a market value of more than 20,000 yuan (US$3,030). They allegedly sold the bars and split the money. Police are investigating.
