AN unidentified man was recruiting people in Shenzhen and Guangzhou on the Internet to watch the world s first 3D porn film in Hong Kong during the May Day holiday, Southern Metropolis Daily reported Thursday.
The cost of a ticket was 168 yuan (US$25) for Shenzhen viewers, and 268 yuan for Guangzhou moviegoers. They will travel to Hong Kong in chartered buses.
The man bought all the tickets for the movie, Sex and Zen: Extreme Ecstasy, for April 30, May 1 and 2 screenings at Broadway Theater on Nathan Road, Hong Kong, an unidentified theater employee said.
He did not say why he bought so many tickets and we thought he might be a scalper taking advantage of the holiday because there could be a lot of people coming from Shenzhen and Guangzhou to watch the movie during the holiday, the employee said.
The movie is claimed to be the world s first 3D pornographic film and has created a buzz on the mainland since last year. The film will not be screened on the mainland.
Six travel agencies had been seeking advance bookings for mainland tourists to see the US$3 million movie since October last year, producer Stephen Shiu said earlier.
The film premiered Thursday. Just a few daytime tickets were sold Wednesday, but two-thirds of the tickets for evening viewings in the next few weeks had been booked out, the Daily said.
