Sea Palace lawsuit
THE Longgang District Court had accepted the lawsuit by Shenzhen Offshore Elite Entertainment against Longgang marine authority for alleged administrative violations over the demolition of the 100-million yuan villa Dapeng Bay, the court said Thursday.
Longgang marine authority withdrew the aquatic farming and fishing licenses in March and started to demolish the structure a week ago.
Fatal attack
A TAXI driver for Xinhua Taxi Service was beaten to death for rejecting passengers who were drunk Thursday.
The driver Shen Fuqiang, 45, a native of Zhoukou, Henan Province, was on his way home in Minzhi Subdistrict, Bao an District, after work at 1 a.m. when four passengers including a woman hailed the taxi.
Shen refused to take them and two attacked him, hitting over the head with a stone, Bao an police said.
Police detained Cheng, 36, a native of Jiangxi and the woman suspect Jin, also a native of Jiangxi. An investigation is continuing.
Illegal vehicles
THE Shenzhen transport authority and traffic police seized 69 vehicles including seven buses involved in illegal taxi and bus services in a three-hour action Friday.
One person was arrested, the Shenzhen transport commission said.
Lofty fire engines
SHENZHEN plans to buy nine ladder fire engines, including one that can reach 101 meters.
The purchases will cost 122 million yuan. The city has also purchased two helicopters for high-rise building rescue operations.
