A SENIOR 3 student from Shenzhen Experimental School received offers from 17 universities in the United States including Ivy League Schools Princeton, Stanford and Columbia.
Fu Yunfei impressed the president of Princeton with her outstanding performance in the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and active participation in social activities so much that he wrote Fu a personal letter.
She had not yet decided which university she would attend but preferred to study history and comparative literature, yesterday s Daily Sunshine reported.
Fu applied to 20 universities in the United States at her mother s suggestion.
She said the communications department at Stanford University, which ranked first in America, appealed to her and she would decide before May 1.
She scored 119 points in TOEFL and 2,330 points in SAT when she was 15. She scored 800 marks in history and 770 in English and American Literature in SAT at the age of 16.
Fu has passed the Grade 10 Examination for Piano Amateur Group and is fond of painting, ballet dancing and swimming.
Speaking of her outstanding English skills, Fu said she liked reading classical English literature and watching English programs. She also studied American history after she decided to study in America.
