A BRITISH woman took her 11-year-old adopted daughter to the Shenzhen Social Welfare Center on Wednesday where the girl had lived before going to Britain, trying to trace her family.
Lingling was adopted by the woman, named Sally, when she was 14 months old. It was the first time she had returned to China after being adopted, Thursday s Shenzhen Special Zone Daily reported
For years, Lingling has been curious about her life before going to Britain and wanted to see the people who were raising her before me, so we decided to come here with her friend Cara, Sally said.
Before going to the center, they had already visited Baishizhou in Nanshan District, where she was found on the street by strangers.
They visited the nursery and dining room where she lived with other orphans at the center.
After playing with the orphans, Lingling felt sorry for them. I really hope all these children can find mothers and homes like I did, she said to her mother.
When I first read about Lingling in the documents sent by the China Adoption Center, I had a strong feeling that she was the one, so I came to Shenzhen to see her, Sally said.
When she arrived at the center, Lingling was the first child to reach out her hands.
I was so moved that I finished all the adoption procedures as soon as possible to take her to Britain, said Sally, a single mother.
