A VAN was found to have broken traffic rules 266 times since 2008 when police checked vehicles on Banxuegang Boulevard in Longgang District yesterday.
Most of the offenses were running against traffic lights. The car owner is facing fines totaling nearly 100,000 yuan (US$15,152), police said.
The car owner, identified only as Liu, who runs a store at a Longgang vegetable market, hired drivers to transport vegetables.
Liu said he had paid 12,000 yuan for the second-hand car in 2007. He hired five to six drivers in the past three years.
