Receipt forgery
A REAL estate agent was detained for allegedly using 13 forged tax receipts to help an ineligible homebuyer to buy property in the city. Non-Shenzhen hukou holders are not allowed to buy a home until they have paid personal income tax in the city for at least one year. Investigations are continuing.
Briefs bagged
NEARLY 200,000 pairs of pirated underwear bearing Nike and Adidas brand names were confiscated by Shekou customs yesterday. The underwear was estimated to be worth 1 million yuan (US$153,846). Police are investigating.
Illegals detained
FOUR women were detained at Dongjiaotou in Nanshan District as they were trying to enter Hong Kong illegally. A man who was allegedly trying to ferry them into the SAR was also caught. Further details were unavailable as investigations continued.
