A MAN who was pictured in an old photograph as a naked child playing in a night school classroom was given the photo by the photographer who last week posted the picture on the Internet to look for him, the Daily Sunshine reported Thursday.
Zhang Heng, 30, received the picture from Zhou Shunbin in Futian District with his mother Wednesday morning.
It is indeed a beautiful memory, said Zhang on receiving the photograph. He said he and his mother were deeply impressed by the surprise gift.
The picture was taken in 1983. Adults in the picture were in a photography course in Shenzhen. The boy was playing with two AA batteries.
The picture became a hit on the Internet after Zhou posted it online. He said he wondered where and how the naked boy was after 27 years and wanted to give him the picture.
It is a precious picture, which records the memory of those contributing to the city s development years ago, said Zhou, now vice president of Shenzhen Photographers Association. He said the child s mother attended the training course.
It was common for people living in Shenzhen to take night courses during the early years. They were busy working in the daytime, said Zhou.
The picture won Zhou awards in several photographic competitions.
Zhou said he had taken lots of pictures recording the development of Shenzhen in the past 30 years. I want to find the subjects in my old photos and record them in new photographs, he said. (SD News)
