Valencia aims to take a big step towards the quarter finals of the Champions League when the Spanish side entertains German outfit Schalke 04 in the Mestalla Stadium on Tuesday.
The game comes at a good time for Valencia, who moved into third place in the BBVA Primera Liga table following Saturday's 2-1 win away to Atletico Madrid.
The result highlights the confidence currently being shown by Unai Emery's side, despite the injuries suffered by veteran players such as David Albelda and Cesar Sanchez.
Emery was able to rest some key players such as striker Aritz Aduriz and central defender David Navarro against Atletico Madrid and they will start against Schalke, while Emery will also hope to have left back Jeremy Mathieu available after a slight muscle problem kept him out at the weekend.
Meanwhile the game will also provide the chance for Spanish fans to judge the form of former Real Madrid captain Raul Gonzalez, who returns to Spain to play for the first time since joining Schalke in the summer.
Raul has enjoyed his spell in Germany so far, scoring 12 goals for Schalke, despite their disappointing campaign.
Schalke are currently lying in tenth place in the German Bundesliga and are currently returning to form after a poor start to the season. They will be followed by around 2,000 fans who have made the journey to Spain, ensuring an excellent atmosphere for the game.
