Six people died after their van caught fire Wednesday morning in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, local authorities said.
The accident happened at around 4 a.m. in Jinghe County, Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. Three of the nine people inside the van managed to escape, said a spokesman with the prefecture government's information office.
It's so far unknown how the fire broke out, he said.
