BEIJING, May 16 (Xinhuanet) -- Down the foot of the Great Wall about eight kilometers north of the Huairou district of Beijing lies Yanqi Lake, or Geese Lake. In the stretching forearms of three suburban mountains, its water surface mirroring the blue sky, Yanqi Lake is a popular summer resort for tourists.
Every year in spring and autumn, flocks of wild geese migrate to the lake, hence the name Geese Lake. The lake was added into China's AAAA national tourism destination list in 2000.
