On March 16th at 9:30 am, panda Xing Bang arrived in Beijing from Japan. From there he travelled to Chengdu on flight CA4112, arriving in the early afternoon
Air China Cargo Ltd. was in charge of transporting the panda, making many preparations in advance in order to meet the needs of this precious cargo.
Ensuring a quiet and comfortable environment
The distance Xing Bang travelled was quite long, so Air China Cargo Ltd Beijing provided a special place for Xing Bang to spend the night, around the suggestions of experts (this included sterilizing the facilty and monitoring the animal for 24 hours). All of this was to help reduce Xing Bang s stress levels as he prepared to make the final leg of his journey to Chengdu.
Ensuring a safe and pleasant trip.
Xing Bang was the last to be put on board and the first to deplane. While on board, Xing Bang was placed next to an oxygen outlet and the flight crew paid close attention to the oxygen supply and air pressure, all to ensure his comfort.
Panda Xing Bang was born at Adventure World Park Zoo in Japan on August 23th, 2005. According to the scientific agreement on giant pandas between China and Japan, 4 year old Xing Bang comes back to China and to the base. This is the fifth panda to come home from overseas (the others were Xiong Bang, Long Bang, Qiu Bang and Mei Lan).
