Officials of the Japanese electronic company Sony are in the Gambian capital Banjul on an African tour to seek stronger business ties, according to state radio and sources of the company.
At the invitation of Gambia's state radio, Sony officials are visiting African countries using Sony equipment in a bid to boost cooperation.
Paul Martin, Sony's sales manager for the Africa region, told Xinhua on Thursday that the team is bringing to Africa projects to develop markets and expand their business.
"We are here with the projects to develop African market in order to make a shape for their market and also to forge a good and cordial relationship," an official of the company said.
Gambia's radio station, including its control room, new studio and the outside broadcasting band, is in a good shape with Sony's equipment, Martin said.
He commended the officials of Gambia Radio for the well- organised studio.
Marin said the Sony team has travelled to many parts of Africa and seen many television and radio stations equipped with Sony products. He held confidence in expanding their business in Africa.
