It is built in honor of Liu Zhongyuan – a great literate in the
Tang Dynasty who was once the governor of Liuzhou.
Liuhou Park covers an area of about 20 hectares. In 1909, the
original Liuhou Memorial Temple was extended into the Liuhou Park
to commemorate Liu Zhongyuan, a famed literate, ideologist and
politician in the Tang Dynasty. There are some historic sites
concerned with Liu Zhongyuan, namely, Liuhou Memorial Temple, Liu
Zhongyuan Cenotaph, Luo Pool, Juxiang Pavilion and so on.
There is an artificial lake with an area of 7 hectares. The clean
water and the curved bridge beautify the lake. By the lake, verdant
trees, pavilion and rockery together make the scenery even more
splendid. There are also some other recreational facilities
including Miniature Garden, zoo and Children's Park.
It is a good destination for the local people to relax themselves.
