Beijing: IP Infringing Products

Beijing Customs recently seized IP infringing commodities set for export to the United States, Canada, England and Australia by mail. More than 5,000 pieces packaged in 52 postal parcels included watches, trunks and bags, straps and gym shoes. Among the counterfeits were 2,100 fake watches carrying brand names such as Rolex, Omega and Armani.

With the rapid development of online shopping, the number of postal infringement cases has risen. Last year, Beijing Customs confiscated 28,794 IP infringing products sent by post, accounting for 38 percent of the total number of products seized.
