Consumer Price Index Up by 0.9 percent in February


In February, the general level of consumer prices over the same month of the previous year up by 0.9 percent, of which, 0.9 percent up in urban areas, 0.8 percent up in rural areas. The prices of food was up by 1.2 percent, while non-food up by 0.7 percent; consumables up by 0.7 percent, and services up by 1.4 percent. In view of link comparison, the general level of consumer prices was up by 0.5 percent over the last month. In view of accumulative, the general level of consumer prices from January to February was up by 1.4 percent compared with the same period of the previous year..

In view of different categories, in February, food price was up by 1.2 percent. Of which, grain up by 1.0 percent, grease down by 6.0 percent, poultry and their products down by 6.6 percent, fresh eggs dropped by 14.1 percent, aquatic products down by 1.5 percent, fresh vegetables up by 14.6 percent.

The prices for tobaccos, alcohols and daily articles were up by 0.2 percent. Of which, tobaccos down by 0.1 percent, while alcohols up by 0.5 percent.

The prices for clothing were dropped by 1.4 percent. Of which, clothes declined 2.0 percent.

The prices for household appliances and services were up by 0.6 percent. Of which, consumer durables kept at the same level, while household services up by 5.6 percent.

The prices for medical, health and personal articles were up by 0.5 percent. Of which, western medicines were down by 1.5 percent, the traditional Chinese medicinal materials and medicines down by 1.9 percent, while medical and health services up by 3.4 percent.

The prices for transportation and communications were down by 1.0 percent. Of which, vehicles down by 1.9 percent, vehicle fuel and spares up by 11.2 percent, using and maintaining of vehicles up by 2.1 percent, Inter-cities transportation fee up by 1.4 percent; Communications tools down by 17.8 percent.

The prices for recreational, educational and cultural articles and services were down by 0.5 percent. Of which, learning and baby-care up by 1.0 percent, Education and recreation fee up by 1.6 percent, Tourism down by 1.6 percent, recreational consumer durables down by 5.3 percent.

The prices for housing were up by 5.2 percent. Of which, water, electricity and fuels up by 8.4 percent, house construction and decoration materials up by 2.6 percent, house renting up by 1.4 percent.
