China Foundation for Poverty Alliviation calls for donation to disaster-striken area people

In autume of 2009, Yunnan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Sichuan and Chongqing were attacked by severe drought disaster that once a century occured. This time, the disaster threw a negative effect on large area of till land, and caused big economic loss, and affected a large group of people s lives there.

Popular stars were called up to donate for disaster striken peole

In order to help relieve disaster area people hardships, China Founation for Poverty Alliviation lauched timely rain movement to summon all philanthropic personages from various circles of society to donate money for disaster-hit people. Stars (Andy, Li Bingbing, Chen Daoming couples, Tong Dawei and Guanyue couples)hope to make every tiny effort to help relieve their hardships.

Social philanthropists generously donate for refugees one after another

In the evening of April 3rd, nine satelite media institutions such as Yunan Satelite, Beijing Satelite and East Satelite jonitly organized charity performance in the name of we are on the way to relieve disaster which again demonstrated all Chinese people s strong sense of philanthropy before the catastrope. During the philanthropic performance, Mengniu Dairy Group as the national leading dairy enterprise took the innitative to donate RMB 3 million cash and materials worth of RMB 2 million. This was the largest donation that ever been donated among domestic dairy companies.

The adminstration president of Mengniu Dairy Group said, As a national enterprise, to take care of every part of nation s development and the interest of the general public is both our responsibility and commitment as well.

The drought effect has not yet dispeared, but the earthquake occurred in Yushu of Qinghai Province again exposed that unhealed drought wound under big sadness. National dairy enerprise Mengniu Dairy Group who was fullfilled of love and profound emotions with strong sense of industry leader took the lead to donate RMB 5 million to help relieve disaster stricken people s hardship, which also passed Mengniu people s philanthropy to people living there.

We are all herdsmen, so every Mengniu person is a Yushu person! After the earthquake, Mengniu s staff donated RMB 350,000 philanthropic money to Yushu people in the shortest period of time which demonstated their strong belief that they were together with Yushu compatriots.

When disaster struck, help came from all sides. Seeing this moving scene, I hope that personages from various circles of society who came from not only philanthropic popular stars or enterprises, but also from other philanthropic people to hand out their help to make every bit of their strength to relieve people s hardship there and proffer their kindheart to miost the drought hearts of these people.
