The First Phase of Special Discussion of the Workshop of Corruption Prevention for Asian and African Countries Launched at China National School of Administration (Photos)

From November 17 to 19, 2008, the first phase of special discussion of the Workshop of Corruption Prevention for Asian and African Countries was held at the Training Center of China National School of Administration.

Professor Ren Jin and Professor Song Shiming of China National School of Administration introduced China s basic political system and China s system of civil servant administration respectively. Shao Jingjun, Deputy Department-Level Supervision Commissioner of Research Office of Ministry of Supervision and Central Commission for Discipline Inspection, Dong Zhongbo, Deputy Director of Work Style Rectification Office, Dai Jun, Deputy Department-Level Supervision Commissioner of Publicity and Education Office, Bian Baochi, Deputy Director of Comprehensive Supervision Office, Cui Yang, Deputy Department-Level Supervision Commissioner of Theory Research Center for Clean Governance and Zhou Shengming, Deputy Chief of Department of Finance of Hubei Province introduced China s guidelines and policies of combating corruption and upholding integrity, main measures and prominent achievements, the work of restraining the malpractice of violating the interests of the masses, education and cultural construction of clean governance, reform of administrative examination and approval, commercial bribery rectification and government procurement of Hubei Provincial Government.

Representatives from corruption prevention authorities and discipline inspection departments of Uganda, Mongolia, Laos, Pakistan, Viet Nam, Tanzania, Botswana and Mauritius presided over the discussions in succession or delivered speeches. Foreign representatives showed great interests to China s corruption prevention work and raised many questions.

These questions include the functional relations between National Bureau of Corruption Prevention and malpractice rectification office of the State Council, construction of clean administration for private companies, reform of administrative examination and approval, the rank and salary of China s civil servant, the equality, openness and justice in civil servant examination, style and effect of education of clean governance, bid invitation and submission for project construction, the fund sources for the education of combating corruption and upholding integrity in China, China s practice of integrating education of clean governance into the national education system, reform of administrative examination and approval and its result, the equality of expert evaluation during bid invitation and submission.
