Matsuoka Tamaki Will Come to Nanjing in Search of Survivors of Nanjing Massacre Again

Matsuoka Tamaki, a Japanese person will come to Nanjing again on March 17 to search for survivors of the massacre at Taipingmen by Japanese invaders.

Ms. Gao, a native Nanjing person teaching in Japan, who worked as interpreter for Mr. Matsuoka said that, he hopes to find the survivors of the massacre at Taipingmen when the Japanese invaders occupied Nanjing 70 years ago and get their testimony.

There is a principle of Mr. Matsuoka s investigation: paying attention to truthfulness of details and trying to validate every massacre venue through narration of both victims and inflicters.

Now, the only place that Mr. Matsuoka failed to find survivors from during the Nanjing Massacre is Taipingmen area. According to the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders, none of the living 300 survivors were survived from the Taipingmen mass slaughter. There are only evidences of testimony of Japanese soldiers and photos but no testimony of survivors for the Taipingmen massacre.

But, in that time, Taipinmen was one of the important areas where the Japanese invaders committed slaughters. The memorial hall has collected some data and a dozen of Japanese veterans intervied by Mr. Matsuoka have also proved the slaughter in Taipingmen area. But survivors or witnesses of that slaughter was never found in Nanjing, which has obsessed Mr.

Matsuoka.
