From July 3 to 4, Governor Chen Zhenggao made a field visit in Changhai County for further speeding up the construction of the Tourist Resort of Changshan Islands. Mayor Li Wancai, Vice Mayor Sun Guangtian, Assistant of Mayor Jiang Zhou and Secretary-General of the municipal government Xu Guochen joined the visit.
Changshan Islands consist of Dachangshan Island, Xiaochangshan Island, Guanglu Island, Zhangzi Island, Haiyang Island, Gexian Island, Haxian Islan, etc. Earlier this year, the Tourist Resort of Changshan Islands was established, the aim of which is to build a first international island resort of China and a famous island tourist destination in the world. The resort will have different functions for conference, health-preservation, fish culture, sports, theme area, eco-tourism and leisure vacation.
Chen Zhenggao and his group first came to Guanglu Island and then Dachangshan Island in Changhai County, made an on-the-spot investigation on power supply, diversion project, and the construction plan of airport and port expansion at Changshan Islands. He held an on-site meeting to discuss about and solve difficulties and problems in the development and construction of the islands.
After listening attentively to the work report on Changhai County, Chen Zhenggao pointed out that the provincial Party committee and government are very concerned about the construction and development of Changhai County. In recent years, under the correct leadership of Dalian municipal Party committee and the government, carders and people of Changhai County have united as one and made greater progress in economic and social development. They have already broadened their scope of mind and had their own development mode. All of the above have brought people together and given them great confidence and encouragement.
Chen Zhenggao stressed that both provincial and municipal Party committees and the governments have attached importance to the greater development and wider opening-up of Changhai County as well as to the construction of the International Tourist Resort with unique advantages of the islands. As an important part of the Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone, Changhai County has a good infrastructure, great potential for development and a bright future. It has to be a supporting point for the enhancement of competitiveness of liaoning and economic growth in Dalian. He said that we will be capable of building Changshan Islands into an international tourist resort which will be well-known and rank among the best in the world. Firstly, we must speed up the expansion of Changhai Airport, the building of Changshan Bridge, the inter-sea diversion project at Guanglu Island and the construction of port and circle-road on island. We must further improve the infrastructure, environment and functions. Secondly, we have to accelerate the process of urbanization, comprehensively develop and utilize land and sea, and create more space for the construction of the Resort. Thirdly, we should open up widely and redouble our efforts to recruit foreign investment. We should target those who are well-known tourist enterprises both at home and abroad in order to implement our plan for the Resort faster. Chen Zhenggao expected that Changhai County Party committee and the government should set their sights high and united as one to complete their mission successively. They should fully stimulate initiative of cadres and masses to show the image of the Resort, to shape and to complete the Resort earlier.
Li Wancai said that Dalian will, in accordance with the requirements of the provincial Party committee and the government, emancipate the mind, strengthen confidence and do solid work to widely conduct propaganda of the Resort and to recruit foreign investment. We will accelerate institutional innovation, focus on the construction of major functional infrastructure and the development of industrial projects, design and build the Resort, with a greater enthusiasm, to a higher standard and at a higher level, and bring about a new situation of the opening and developing of Liaoning Coastal Economic Zone with better achievements.
