60th Anni.Of Women's Federation
On Sunday morning, Xinjiang held a talk to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of Xinjiang Women's Federation,and commended the advanced women workers. Zhang Chunxian, secretary of CPC Xinjiang Committee, and other leaders of XJ including Nuer Baikeli attended the talk.
Zhang Chunxian remarked that, the women federations at all levels of Xinjiang should exert their leading role, unite women of all ethnic groups, and make joint efforts for XJ's economic development, social harmony and better future.
Zhang Chunxian hopes that, the women federations can encourage women in rural areas to engage themselves in the construction of their homesteads, help urban women get employed and initiate business, and guide women to play their role in maintaining social stability and harmony. The federations should further their efforts to safeguard women's rights.
Zhang Chunxian stressed, Party Committees at different levels should clearly understand the importance of women's work in the new period. All society should respect and protect women, and support women's work.
At the talk, 41 advanced women workers were commended for their outstanding contributions to women's work.
