Coal boiler below 4t/hr to be discarded as Asian Games approaches

In order to guarantee the good air condition in the City of Dongguan, coal boilers below 4t/hr and below 10t/hr that have been in use for over 8 year will be discarded in accordance with State regulations.

The environmental protection authority has put forward requirments that key industrial sources with no desulfurization facilities, 20 65t/h boilers should install desulfurization facilities and guarantee a desulfurization rate of 80%. Large-scale coal boiler above 65t/h should guarantee a desulfurization rate of 90%.

By the time the 2010 Asian Games are held, key industrial enterprises in Dongguan should have installed facilities to purify smoke and dust output in order guarantee a desulfurization rate of 98%. Enterprises with high emission levels and low smoke and dust elimination rate are being compelled to improve their elimination rate to over 98%.
