"Streak with me" was the plea of an unidentified 31-year-old man posted on the website of Dongguan Times in Guangdong Province on July 15. "Because the weather is too hot and life is so boring, is there anyone out there who is willing to streak with me? I also welcome suggestions from anyone with previous streaking experience." He wanted five volunteers and added that he was under a lot of pressure because he can't afford to buy an apartment for his family and that an old friendship was ruptured due to debt problems. "Then I recently saw my little boy playing nude because of the hot weather and thought of streaking."
His invitation initially drew about 15 replies, which expressed admiration and surprise, and two who said they would join him. Now he's looking for three more and said that they could discuss where and when - though he has ruled out streaking on a weekend or in Dongguan. A local lawyer said there is no specific law regarding streaking.
However, according to the 44th article of the Law of the People's Republic of China on Public Security Administration Punishments, "Anyone who acts indecently towards any person or deliberately exposes his body it a public place shall be detained for not less than five days but not more than 10 days if the circumstances are absolutely vile."
