Dongguan's GDP up 10.6% in first half 2010

Dongguan's economy expanded by 10.6% year-on-year in the first half of 2010, Li Yuquan the Mayor of Dongguan revealed on July 14.

Mayor Li introduced the city's economic situation in the first half of 2010. According to preliminary predictions, the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Dongguan reached 191.1 billion yuan in the first six months of this year, rising 10.6% from the corresponding period and 5.3% over last year.

In this period, the output value of the city's industrial enterprises, above a prescribed size, totaled 342.67 billion yuan, an increase of 25.5%. The actual foreign investment in the city amounted to US $ 1.39 billion, increased by 4.7% while the actual domestic investment amounted to 9.11 billion yuan, increased by 252.8%.
