American Famous Social Activist, Ambassador Zhang Zhixiang, and Her Party Visited CUC

On the afternoon of November 12th, 2010, the American famous social activist, President of the America-China Education Foundation (ACEF), as well as former U.S. Ambassador to Nepal Ms. Zhang Zhixiang and her party paid a visit to CUC. President Assistant Liu Liqun held talks with the guests on the issue of bilateral cooperation.

President Assistant Liu Liqun extended welcome to the visit of President Zhang Zhixiang. She gave detailed introduction to the CUCs characteristics, discipline construction, teaching and scientific research development, and CUCs international exchange and cooperation. President Zhang Zhixiang expressed her appreciation for CUCs characteristics as well as the construction results in all aspects of CUC. Both sides agreed that ACEF and CUC could carry out extensive cooperation in the areas of news media, teacher and student exchange, joint scientific research and so on which will provide more opportunities of mutual understanding and mutual learning for the two sides of the scholars, and further promote the internationalization of higher media education of CUC.
Qiao Baoping, Director of CUC TV Station; Liang Yan, Deputy Director of International Exchange and Cooperation Department; Director of R&D Department, CUC TV Station, Fu Shaoqiang; Associate Professor of School of Foreign Studies Zhang Yuqiang and so on, attended the meeting.
Ms. Zhang Zhixiang once studied in the University of California at Berkeley and Harvard University, served in the US Congress after graduation. In 1981, President Reagan appointed her as the Assistant Director of International Development, becoming the highest-ranking Asian American. In 1989, Ms. Zhang Zhixiang was appointed as U.S. Ambassador to Nepal by US President George W. Bush, becoming the first Asian ambassador.
America-China Education Foundation (ACEF) headquartered in Los Angeles, is a non-profit educational organization providing resource platform for US-China educational exchange and development. ACEF aimed at "cooperation, communication, development, and service", focusing on US-China cooperation and exchanges in education, educational theory and market research, international curriculum development and teaching reform and communication. In recent years, ACEF provided a full range of educational services and solutions for the universities, secondary schools, educational institutions in the US and China. So far, ACEF has established a cooperative relationship with more than 100 leading universities in the US and China.
