On the morning of Sep. 27, the commencement ceremony of the significant investment project of Liuzhou City in 2009 - Liuzhou Zhegu River Iron & Steel Deep Processing and Logistics Industrial Park - was solemnly held in Liuzhou Logistics Base of SINOTRANS Guangxi Co. Zheng Junkang, Vice Secretary of Liuzhou Municipal CPC Committee and Mayor of Liuzhou City and other main leaders, namely Liang Jingli, General Manager of Liuzhou Iron & Steel (Group) Company, Ji Baoling, General Manager of SINOTRANS Guangxi Co. as well as leaders from Baosteel and WISCO attended the ceremony cutting the ribbon and laying the foundation for the project.
With a planned area of 8,000 mu, Liuzhou Zhegu River Iron & Steel Deep Processing and Logistics Industrial Park is a key investment project of the government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and is an important park supporting the industrial development of Liuzhou. Based on the 300-mu land of Liuzhou Logistics Base of SINOTRANS Guangxi Co., the first-phase project of this Park will expand to surrounding areas, with the largest iron and steel deep processing and logistics center in Southwest China being constructed finally, which supports the automobile and engineering machinery industry of Liuzhou, and integrates iron and steel trade and warehousing, e-trade platform and iron and steel deep processing into one.
The mayor of Liuzhou City Zheng Junkang indicated at the opening ceremony that, the construction of the Park was not only significant for expanding the iron and steel deep processing of Liuzhou City, accelerating iron and steel products structural adjustment, improving the added value of products, and making the metallurgical industry of Liuzhou powerful, but also important for accelerating the optimization of the industrial layout of Liuzhou City, constructing convenient and efficient modern logistics system, and building Liuzhou City into a regional business logistics center and a leading city in Xijiang economic zone.
During the commencement ceremony, Liuzhou Iron & Steel (Group) Company signed logistics strategic cooperation agreement with SINOTRANS Guangxi Co. Liuzhou Zhegu River Iron & Steel Deep Processing and Logistics Industrial Park, centering on Liuzhou Logistics Base of SINOTRANS Guangxi Co. will bring huge business opportunities for SINOTRANS Guangxi Co., facilitate its speeding up of the integration along the river, and promote the implementation of the riverside regional development strategy of SINOTRANS Guangxi Co. It is believed that the business scale of SINOTRANS Guangxi Co. will significantly expand after the Park is constructed and put into operation.
