On January 4, the first working day of the new year, Yang Jinxu, deputy director of Dalian DPF, Yang Shumin, director of Jinzhou New Area DPF, and leaders from Dalian Hongfu Group and relevant departments visited Dalian New Starting Point Kanner Learning Garden and donated money and equipment for children s rehabilitation, bringing concerns of the Party, the government and the society to children with autism.

Located in Liujia Village, Daweijia Neighborhood, Jinzhou New Area, the Learning Garden is the first care center for children with autism in Dalian. For about two years since it inception, with great concern and support from both municipal and district DPF as well as the society as a whole, leaders and teachers have made great progress in various efforts with their love for their mission and for children. For the better development of the Learning Garden, leaders from Dalian DPF paid visits and conducted researches there: Director Yang, on behalf of Jinzhou New Area, donated 20,000 yuan to the center; Dalian Hongfu Group equipped the school with a multi-functional sensory classroom by inputting 100,000 yuan to upgrade the school s conditions. Jinzhou New Area DPF invited Professor Yuan Zhicheng, a Dalian expert on autism to give lectures on nursing care and therapy for children s recovery.

In recent years, with Jinzhou No. 4 Hospital, the School of Special Education, the Kanner Learning Garden and the Day-care Center as the basis, Jinzhou New Area has greatly promoted the rehabilitation and care of disabled persons. In 2010, they input 1.3905 million yuan asrehabilitation funds, with 15,400persons (times) having rehabilitation training in the District, neighborhoods and communities. They completed theregistration of451cataractscreenings, distributed rehabilitation training facilitators to 209 families and allocated 150 wheelchairs; they also funded medication for 582 mentally disabled persons and released free medicine to 300 disabled persons.
