The Cultural Square approved as class 3-A attraction

On December 29, the inauguration ceremony for the Cultural Square of DDA as a national Class 3-A attraction was held. Now there is a new attraction in Jinzhou New Area and a new place for entertainment.

The Cultural Square was initiated in March, 2003, and completed in January, 2006, taking up an area of 76,000 square meters and a construction area of 96,000 square meters, with a total investment of 630 million yuan. It consists of 4 functional areas: the Library, the Planning Exhibition Hall, the Grand Theatre and the Cultural Square. The Grand Theatre, which was put into use and opened to the public in January, 2006, provides people with year-round performances in various forms: opera, dance, drama, children s plays and symphony; the Library, which was put into use in August, 2007, has a capacity of 1.3 million books and is free for everyone; the Planning Exhibition Hall, a window on the city, put in use in September, 2007, displays DDA s yesterday, today and tomorrow with a variety of high-tech exhibits; the Cultural Square has become a major public entertainment venue since its completion.

As a landmark of the New Area, the Cultural Square, with its concise & elegant design, modern & stylish look, noble & abundant cultural connotation, attracts more and more citizens, and is favored by domestic and foreign tourists as well. The Cultural Square has now, with its gradual impact and rising reputation, become an important window of the opening-up of the New Area, the symbol of the city s image and the regional cultural center.

With the inception of the Arts Gallery and the planning of the cultural creative industrial base of DDA, the Cultural Square will improve its functions and increase its cultural atmosphere.
