On the afternoon of Sept. 2nd, Director Furusawa Osamu and Motohashi Natsuo from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Shizuoka-ken and Professor Tamaki Eichi from HamamatsuUniversity paid a visit to ZSTU for the exchange student program aiming to have 19 exchange students from Shizuoka-ken study in ZDTU.

President Qiu Songliang received the guests in Room 217 of the AdministrationBuilding. President Qiu introduced ZSTU in terms of its history, traditionally dominant disciplines, international exchange and education of international students and looked back on the exchange and cooperation with Japan in 110 years of history. President held that the association with the high education sector in Shizuoka-ken is very important to the exchange and cooperation with Japan which has a major role in the international development of ZSTU. He expressed the hope of having better cooperation in more fields with Shizuoka-ken though the joint efforts of both sides.

Director Furusawa Osamu extended thanks to ZSTU for receiving students from Shizuoka-ken for two successive years. He said more students will be sent from Shizuoka-ken to ZSTU since the exchange students last year all considered the short period of study in ZSTU very beneficial and fruitful after they returned to Shizuoka-ken. The exchange students from ZSTU also studied hard in the universities in Shizuoka-ken. The concerning departments in Shizuoka-ken also feel very satisfied with the exchange student program between Shizuoka-ken and ZSTU and expect further development of the program and all round exchange and cooperation.

The teachers and students concerned from the School of Foreign Language Studies and International Exchange and Cooperation Division joined the meeting. Head of International Exchange and Cooperation Division introduced to the guests three scholarships for international students consisting of national scholarship, provincial government scholarship and university scholarship. Some ZSTU students who went and will go to the University Alliance of Shizuoka-ken for study communicated with 19 students from Japan exchanged ideas in a friendly atmosphere.

ZSTU has sent 13 students to the University Alliance of Shizuoka-ken up to now and will send 6 more students for three months of study. It is the second time that Shizuoka-ken has sent exchange students to ZSTU and it sent 7 students the first time.
