The 2nd National Civil Engineering Summer School for Graduates Opens In HNU

Vice President of Hunan University Zhang Jing is delivering a speech.

On the morning of July 26, the opening ceremony of the 2nd National Civil Engineering Summer School for Graduates was staged at Hunan University. Professor Ma Kejian, Academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Professor Zhang Jing, Vice President of Hunan University and Dean of the graduate school of the university, attended the ceremony.

The vice president extended his hope that the summer school would serve as a platform for the students to promote exchanges and common progress, and to strengthen the ties between Hunan University and other colleges and universities, in a bid to cultivate senior and creative personnel for the country.

As a creative education program, the summer school was jointly funded by the Ministry of Education of PRC and the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), and undertaken by Hunan University. 85 outstanding graduates from 22 top institutions of higher learning such as Tsinghua University and Tongji University gathered in Hunan University, and 16 renowned experts in the field of civil engineering both at home and abroad, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Cheung Kong scholars, have been invited to give lectures.
