Hunan University Honored with 2010 China Industry-Academia Award
The 4th China Industry Academia Cooperation (Beijing) Summit Forum kicked off in Beijing on Dec. 22.

Present at the forum included Wan Gang, minister of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the PRC, Xu Zhijian, president of the China Industry-University-Research Institute Collaboration Association, Zhou Ji, president of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, and Yang Xueshan, vice minister of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the PRC. They also delivered keynote speeches.

With more than 800 representatives, the forum was divided into 6 sub-forums in which heated discussions were conducted among participants on industry-academia cooperation and the development of strategic emerging industries.

Approved by the Ministry of Science and Technology as well as the National Office of Science and Technology Awards, the forum honored excellent units and individuals in recognition of their outstanding contributions to the industry-academia cooperation innovation.

Hunan University was granted four awards, namely, industry-academia cooperation award to Hunan University, industry-academia cooperation innovation achievement award to academician Zhong Zhihua, president of Hunan University, for the structural design and optimization of Shanghai General Motor Wuling Sunshine Series Model, industry-academia cooperation innovation award to the Deep Space Exploration Research Center of the Ministry of Education, and industry-academia cooperation promotion award to professor Xie Gengxin, director of the S&T Key Projects Office of Hunan University.
