The Establishment of Hust Alumni Hope Primary School

On September 1, 2009, in the youthful hero, Lainin's hometown - Shimian County, Ya an City, Sichuan Province, "HUST Alumni Hope Primary School" has been formally established and a grand opening ceremony was being held. President Li Peigen inscribed the school name in person.

"HUST Alumni Hope Primary School" is co-donated by our school alumni and the Chinese International Friends Communication Association. It was the first project in the county's educational system which gained financial support by the Central Reconstruction Funds after the earthquake. Shortly after the 2008 "5 12" Wenchuan earthquake, the Alumni Work and External Liaison Office called on all alumni to donate for reconstructing the schools, which quickly gained strong support among our Hust alumni and a donation of 400,000 yuan was smoothly raised. Subsequently, the Alumni Association and the Shimian County People's Government signed an agreement which alleged the teaching building should be designed to resist against seismic level 9 degree, should be completed in the end of August 2009 and change its name to "Hust Alumni Hope Primary School".

School leaders attached great importance to the reconstruction work. President Li Peigen inquired about the progress repeatedly, and inscribed the name of the school. Our alumni Xiang Guicheng, Ba Shusong and Cheng Xiangyong all have devoted considerable energy and efforts in donation work, urging the construction progress and communicating with the Shimian Government officials.

After the school was completed, the Deputy Mayor Qiu Yunqiao wrote a letter to our alumni to thank for their love and dedication. He wrote the following words: "Love and national hope was spread by Hust Alumni Hope Primary Schools in the remote mountains! Sincerely wish our alumni career flourishing, Hust Alumni Hope Primary Schools will be better and better!"
