On the morning of February 21, local time, the Zhoushan warship of the 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce sailed into the Port of Djibouti of the Republic of Djibouti and began its last round of 5-day-long rest and replenishment at the port. After the rest, the 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce will continue to implement escort mission until the completion of task transfer to the coming 8th Chinese naval escort taskforce which left China on February 21. By then, the 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce will embark on its visit and homeward voyage.
At 09:00 of the very day, the "Zhoushan" warship slowly berthed at the Port of Djibouti and was replenished with such goods and materials as vegetables, fruits, and frozen goods under the coordination of the Embassy of the People s Republic of China in the Republic of Djibouti and the West Asia Company of China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company.
The 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce has successfully escorted 451 Chinese and foreign merchant vessels in 29 batches since it began to implement escort task in the Gulf of Aden and the waters off the Somali coast on November 17, 2010.
According to Li Jianjun, political commissar of the 7th Chinese naval escort taskforce, the taskforce had successively berthed at the Port of Djibouti, the Port of Aden of Yemen and the Port of Salalah of Aman during its implementation of escort mission.
It is learned that the Zhoushan warship will hold a deck reception and visit local school during its berthing at the Port of Djibouti.
