On Nov. 8-9, China-Germany Workshop on Agrochemical Administration was held in Beijing. Zhang Yanqiu, Representative of the Chinese side and Head of the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals (ICAMA) of the Ministry of Agriculture (MOA) attended and addressed the meeting and extended welcome to Dr. Helmut Tschiersky-Sch neburg, Representative of the German side and Head of the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety (BVL), and his delegation.
Zhang Yanqiu noted in his remarks that China and Germany had carried out the cooperation on agrochemicals for a long time and the two sides had developed profound trust and friendship since the collaboration on agrochemical projects started in early 1990s, and set a good model for the cooperation between the two countries. The in-depth bilateral exchange and cooperation in the field of agrochemicals would make greater contribution to improvement of agricultural product quality and safety in the world and development of environment-friendly agriculture and the advanced administration concepts from Germany would also produce deeper impact on China s administration of agrochemicals.
During the meeting, Zhang Yanqiu and Dr. Sch neburg signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Agrochemical Administration between the Institute for the Control of Agrochemicals of the Ministry of Agriculture of the People s Republic of China and the Federal Office of Consumer Protection and Food Safety of the Federal Republic of Germany.
Gu Baogen, Deputy Head of ICAMA, introduced the functions and other basic information of the institute while Dr. Sch neburg gave such an introduction of BVL. Experts of both sides exchanged views on many aspects, including the agrochemical registration administration system, agrochemical registration document requirements, quality control and market supervision, and import and export administration measures.
