In January 2003, 2 model CK1E diesel-hydraulic locomotives contract was awarded by Vietnamese coal company. The diesel of the locomotive is CAT3508B with 1,000 kW. Truck gauge is 1,000 mm and wheel arrangement is C-C. They were delivered to Vietnam in July and appreciated by costumers. Therefore another two locomotives were further required in September. The time of shipment is in March 2004.
