From March 19 to 27, Minister Liu Zhijun with the MOR Inspection Team covered 13,000 kilometers to make detailed check-up for the Fifth Round Speed-enhancement Programme along rail lines of Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Lanzhou, etc.
On March 21, No. 0016 SS7E electric locomotive run through 1,683 kilometers in 13 hours and 45 minutes from Beijing to Xi"an, then to Zhengzhou. The max. speed reached 163 km/h. All characters meet the needs of railway acceleration. Minister Liu Zhijun came with the locomotive and setisfied the result.
There will be 18 SS7E electric locomotives running in the fifth railway speed-up.
