A contract of 100 metro cars for Tianjin Subway was signed in Tianjin. There are 25 train-sets. Each train-set is comprised 4 cars, of which 2 are power and 2 are trailer. The vehicles adopted advanced technology such as VVVF inverter and aluminum alloy broad-body. The first batch of 4 train-sets will be delivered to No. 1 line of Tianjin Subway in June 2005.
This bid project was begun in September 2002 and Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. Was awarded finally. This is the third time that Changchun subsidiary cooperated with Tianjin Subway. In 1987, Changchun supplied 19 metro cars for the opening running of Tianjin Subway. Changchun got the order again in 2002 for supply 114 rapid transit vehicle with stainless car body.
