The first metro train-set with type A aluminum-bodied for Shenzhen Subway rolled out on May 24, 2004 in Changchun Bombardier Railway Vehicles Co., Ltd. This is the best Metro in domestic, which reached world advanced level.
On Dec. 6, 2001, Changchun plant signed a contract with Shenzhen Subway for supplying 19 sets of six-car. Another order was awarded on Dec.13, 2002 for 3 sets eighteen cars. The total quantity is 22 sets 132 cars.
The new trains will be formed of 4 power cars and 2 trailers. They are designed with modular subassemblies and VVVF inverter according to Europe and international standard. The max. speed is 100 km/h and line voltage is 1500V DC. The seating capacity is 1,896 and the max. capacity is 2,692. The lifetime is 30 years.
The first phase of Shenzhen Subway will be put into operation by the end of this year. Delivery is scheduled to be completed in Feb. 2006.
