Chinese President Hu Jintao, who was on an inspection tour in Jilin Province, inspected CNR Changchun Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. On May 15, 2004, companied with CPC Secretary Wang Gang, Vice- Chief of State Development and Reform Committee Zhang Guobao, CPC Jilin Province Secretary Wang Yunkun and Jilin Province Governor Hong Hu.
President Hu had a view on urban rail vehicle assembly line and Changchun Bombardier Railway Vehicle Co., Ltd. He was very please to see the new cars for Beijing, Tianjin and Wuhan LRT and inquired the performance of vehicles. Chairman of Changchun Plant Ma Shukun told President Hu that Changchun Plant is the largest production base of railway coaches and urban rail vehicles in China. President Hu asked Ma how many coaches has Changchun produced since established? Ma reported more than 25,000 which share over half turnover in China. President Hu appreciated, Great! and congratulated to Ma for the fifty ceremony of Changchun Plant.
In front of 200km/h emu, President Hu glad to say, it s beautiful! Ma intruded that It s an AC propulsion EMU with distributed power, named Changbaishan by Minister Liu Zhijun of MOR. President Hu looked down the equipment carefully and sat on a chair to feel the comfortableness. Hu also looked around metro cars for Guangzhou Shenzhen and Shanghai cooperated with Bombardier.
President Hu admired quality of products and environment of production. He was sure that Changchun Plant would make greater achievement for the construction of our country.
