On June 11, 2004, first CKD locomotive rolled out in Pakistan, which symbolizes that CNR realizes a turn in export from products to technology.
This locomotive was locally assembled, and all CKD parts were supplied by CNR Dalian Locomotive & Rolling Stock Company Limited, which delivered 15 diesel locomotives to Pakistan in the middle of 2003.
The contract was awarded on November 8, 2002, including forty-four 2,420 kW diesel locomotives and twenty-five 1,620 kW diesel locomotives, all equipped with advanced VVVF/CVCF transmission, and track gauge is 1,676 mm
54 CKD or SKD locomotives will be finished in Pakistan. CNR Dalian locomotives are running well here. As a developing country, we made a wise decision to cooperate with China , a Pakistan official said.
