On April 4, 2009, CNR was awarded a contract of supplying 17 sets, 204 type A metro cars for Saudi Arabia. The cars will be put into operating in November 2010. This is a sub-contract of pilgrimage line of Mekka. Trains will be running on 18.06 km line of first phase of pilgrimage line. CNR products will relieve the crowdedness of traffic during pilgrimage month.
One train-set consist of 8 motor cars and 4 trailers. The car has type A aluminum-bodied in order to load much more pilgrims. The first train-set will be delivered in April 2010 and the last one will be finished in the end of 2010.
