Spring of 2006 comes good news from Gree Electric Appliances at international market development. Dated March 27, Gree declared that, after a year s preparation, the first Pakistan manufactured Gree air condition completed. This meant the Gree AC Pakistan manufacture base had been commissioning and realized lot production. That is the second overseas manufacture base of Gree air conditions after that in Brazil.

Different from Brazil base, the base in Pakistan is established together with one of the largest specialized AC dealers in Pakistan DWP, and Gree offers total technical support. The base is located in Lahore which is the capital city of Punjab and also the AC market important area in Pakistan, the base only manufactures Gree branded air conditioning products, with annual capacity of 100,000 sets (units), it is one of the AC manufacture bases with largest production capacity in Pakistan.

At that day, more than 300 dealers in Pakistan attended the commissioning ceremony of the base. Vice president Huang Hui who in charge of exporting in Gree Electric Appliances also attended the ceremony with his trip. He congratulated the smooth commissioning of the base, and expressed his total support to DWP to publicize Gree brand there.

CEO of DWP Mr. Farooq Naseem said, it was a good opportunity to have a chance to cooperate with the NO.1 AC brand in China and also leading brand in global AC industry, he would try best to make Gree widely known by families in the whole country, and made it becoming the leading brand in local AC market, just as what Gree achieved in China market.

The location of Gree AC manufacture base in Pakistan also attracted high attention from local government. Before the ceremony, Lt. Gen. (R)Khalid Maqbool, Governor Punjab, met Huang and his trip, and showed his support to the development of Gree AC manufacture base in Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Gree 2006 New Products Release Conference was hold in Lohore. Through samples, real units and photos, Gree showed new developed household and commercial AC products in the conference, all the units mostly satisfied Pakistan dealers demand to Gree AC, and received high estimate and warm welcome from more than 300 dealers attended.

Huang said, the base located in Pakistan would better satisfy the demand to Gree AC from both local dealers and customers, it was important for Gree to further improve its market share in local market. Huang also said, the market demand of AC in Pakistan in 2006 was about 600,000 units; now with self branded products and OEM products, Gree had received lots of orders, and probably would become the Chinese AC brand that occupied most market share in Pakistan.

South Asian area is one of the markets with most economic development potential, it contains very wide market, many international famous brands from Japan and US etc had entered the area already. As a country with nearly 130 million population, Pakistan although contains a lower income average level and AC is still a luxury, with continuous development of local economic standard, demand to AC at present is during a rapid growing period.

In recent years local AC market is growing rapidly with a speed of 20% every year, and the selling AC products in that market are mainly imported, especially imported from China.
