TCL Presents a Tribute to the "Two Conferences"

After the closing of the "Two Conferences" (the National People's Congress and the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference), perceptive reporters discovered that several TCL flat panel TV sets had appeared in the main venue, the Great Hall of the People, on March 19, 2007 in Beijing. A lot of deputies and committee members took photos as a souvenir in front of those large-screen and high-resolution domestic TV sets. It was common knowledge that those TV sets were all presented to the Great Hall of the People by the TCL Corporation in honour of the Two Conferences.

According to the introductions made by relevant personnel, the facilities and equipment inside the Great Hall of the People were in the process of being upgraded to improve the service quality of the Two Conferences and to salute the advent of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games. Upon learning this news, the TCL Corporation contacted the responsible person on its own initiative and requested the honor of presenting the most advanced LCD TV sets for free to the Great Hall of the People.

Through prudent comparison and a strict selection process, the Great Hall of the People finally chose TCL products because of their high quality and stately design and appearance. TCL color TV sets have received praise from both Chinese and foreign guests during past important foreign affairs events, such as the Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation and the First Sino-U.

Mr. Li Dongsheng, president of the TCL Corporation, attended the Two Conferences as a deputy of the National People's Congress. He noted that the Great Hall of the People is an important place not only for the Party and national leaders to receive foreign heads of state, but also for the deputies of the National People's Congress and members of the National Committee of the CPPCC to participate in the management of state affairs; therefore, it stands for the image of China.

He also added that the Great Hall of the People chose TCL because of its full trust in our corporation's technology and products. Finally, he also expressed that the TCL Corporation, as a national brand that emerged and developed after national reform and the opening-up policy and as the first domestic enterprise to enter the international market would continue to assist the Great Hall of the People in upgrading its hardware equipment with excellent products and services.

It is reported that most of the TCL products that were presented are large-screen dynamic LCD TV sets, the H61 model, based on the latest international standards. The H61 model was designed by TCL's "Tim Thom" team, which was praised as "Representative of French Design Strategy and Quality". With its fashionable appearance, compact design and professional quality sound system, as well as its dynamic and wonderful picture, H61 TV sets are visually congruent with the stately and elegant style of the Great Hall of the People.

After being launched, H61 received two awards from the French design industry; namely, the French Institute of Design's Janus Award and the Design Star the highest award bestowed by the French Agency for the Promotion of Industrial Creation (APCI). During the Two Conferences, the H61 TV sets were situated above the chairman's platform in the Great Hall of the People, at the entrance of the registration hall and at each of the provincial delegation discussion venues, providing high-quality service for the conferences with clear picture and stable performance.
