At September 6, in Beijing People s Auditoria, representing Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai, president Dong Mingzhu received the board of China World Brand that awarded by National Quality Surveillance Examines and Quarantines the General Bureau, the most authorized quality technological administration organization, together with China Top Brand Strategy Promoting Committee (hereinafter called The Committee).

Later, when interviewed, Dong said excitingly: This is the appraisal and approval to Gree s 10 years hard development from the state, society and consumers. And it makes Gree s specialization faith more solid!

This was the second time for The Committee to release the list of China World Brand Products , only Gree brand air conditioners produced by Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai, ZTE program control exchanger produced by ZTE communication Inc., ZPMC container crane produced by Shanghai Zhenhua Port Machine (Group) Inc.

, and SUNSHINE woolen cloth produced by Jiangsu Sunshine Group Inc. were selected. Among hundreds of thousands of Chinese produced product and the two enterprises selected in 2005, there were only 6 enterprises received this award, and Gree was the only air conditioning product. As air conditioning product was the first time included in China World Brand , Gree air condition was the first and only one World Brand in Chinese air conditioning industry.

When receiving the awarded news, Zhu Jianghong, board chairman of Gree Group and Gree Electric Appliances said, it was a large encouragement for Gree Electric Appliances to receive the board, and it also brought greater challenges. Gree was in an intense competitive market. The reason why Gree could develop into a China World Brand from a small brand was the enterprises was always insisting in the specification of quality, improving, innovating, and exceeding no matter under what environment and condition.

Zhu also said: We would have temporary pressure when not receiving this board; but now, we will have long lasting pressure. Gree is not aim at short-term and temporary benefit, we have been speeding 15 years to create and develop Gree brand, and we will pay more attention to protect and maintain this brand so that Gree brand will enjoy more and more reputation.

Since 1995, Gree has occupying the No.1 on AC manufacture and sales volume, saleroom and market share for 11 years; in 2005, the saleroom of Gree had exceeded 1.8 billion RMB (about 227 million USD) in which contained 10 million sets of household air conditioners, becoming the champion in the world. Now, Gree s sales network had spread into more than 100 countries and regions with more than 40 million users.

On the awarding ceremony, Lin Zongtang, director of The Committee, expressed his high approval and expectation to Gree Electric Appliances. He told Dong: Gree should not only become China s world brand, but become the genuine global world brand. Dong also said, Gree would continue to insist in obligation, innovation and distribution, and produce high quality product for not only the enterprise, but also for consumers, publics, and the nation.

According to Estimate Scheme of China World Brand Products released by National Quality Surveillance Examines and Quarantines the General Bureau, the applying enterprise should meet the following conditions: total manufacture quantity and export quantity of the product should be ahead in the industry of worldwide, the product should enjoy a reputation and impression in the international industry, product quality should be leading in the same kind of products in the world, there should be intellectual property contained in the core and key technologies of the product, the enterprise should have outstanding achievement and performance on exploring international market, and the enterprise should also show its social obligation and achievement on cycle economic development, environmental protection, energy saving, energy consumption lowering, safe manufacture, support social welfare and others.

According to estimate process, 2006 China World Brand should pass: material estimate by The Committee organized experts, enterprise estimate, public notice for primary selection and other processes. And only after plenary session estimate can the World Brand Product finally determined. In this year, there were 18 products from 16 enterprises applied. The Committee organized relevant ministries, industrial associations, National Quality Examines Center and other organizations to form an experts committee, and estimated applied materials comprehensively on internationalization, marketing leading capacity, develop and innovation capacity and quality, and the excellent performance level required on State Standard of Excellent Performance Estimate Standard. Four products from Gree and other three enterprises were selected as primary electees. Then, The Committee re-estimate according to the result of primary electees s list, and finally determined to award Gree air conditioner and other three products the board of China World Brand .
