Dong Mingzhu Contributed to Build A Special Education School

On Dec.24, teachers and children in Special Education School of Sanming City in Fujian Province received a special Christmas present: Ms. Dong Mingzhu, vice board chairperson and president of Gree Electric Appliances contributed 500,000 CNY to construct a new teaching building Mingzhu Vocational Building, so that disable children there would enjoy better education facilities.

At the contribution ceremony, Dong expressed her hope of more and more governmental departments, companies, social organizations and even individual focusing on social vulnerable group, improving the education condition for this group by practical activities.

Special Education School of Sanming City was the only one full-time special education school in Sanming Region for educating children that lost hearing or sight. That school offered art design, computer, massage and other tens of vocational education courses, aiming to educate disable children in 12 counties or cities that within Sanming region so that they could work and be independent with a professional skill.

Dong said, as a Chinese saying, grow trees if you want ten years of success, grow people If you want one hundred years of prosperity, Hope Project was a valuable commonweal. She said, concerning more on the children living on the verge of the society and educating every child were the commonweal that every citizen should participate. As the biggest air conditioner manufacturer, Gree Electric should carry more social responsibility when developing its business. In future, Gree Electric would support social commonweal more by different channel.

Actually, Dong had been contributing nearly million yuan to social vulnerable groups, and Gree Electric, the company that she managing also contributed more than 50 million yuan funds and products to support flood-fight in China, Indian Ocean Tsunami victim etc..
