Gree Won the Bid for 20 Million USD Project in India

On April 16, with a loud whistle, the first Gree brand commercial air conditioners that specially designed for Indian Telecom base-station was transferred to India by sea.

After half and a year's rigor certification and strict evaluation by Indian government, this 20 million USD air conditioning project for telecom base-station finally belonged to Gree commercial air conditioners. This is the most valuable project Chinese air conditioner field ever won in overseas market so far, and Gree Electric Appliances becomes the first to possess precision air conditioning technology.

At the beginning of 2006, Gree had set up a special team only for Indian Telecom base-station project. According to high-efficiency, safety and reliability required by communication system, Gree R&D people surmounted technical difficulties like intelligentize high precision temperature control, long-distance monitoring, self-diagnosis and process, and high sensible heat operation. Finally Gree product's performance is much more advance than other brands'.

Mr. He, one of Gree's engineers involved in this project, said, there weren't any manufacturer in China produced precision products that suitable to be used in telecom base-station, thus there weren't any experience for reference. In order to satisfy all requirements in limited time with only one piece of paper for technical performance requirement, Gree could only depend on its possessing technology and practical spirit from R&D people.

During the first governmental technical evaluation, Gree eliminated lots of air conditioner manufacturers from all over the world and became one of the three but the unique Chinese company left for final selection.

At last, Gree made contract with Indian government for offering Gree branded commercial air conditioning products that worth 20 million USD in total. This is the most valuable project that Chinese air conditioner ever won in global market so far, it also means precision air conditioning products' technology from China had be in international leading position, and China-made commercial air conditioners are more and more competitive in global market.

In these recent years, by completing product line and insisting in specialized R&D and self-innovated patents, Gree had possessed core technologies for different kinds of commercial air conditioner, some are even international leading technologies, like heating in ultra-low temperature, intelligentize high-precision temperature control. Now, Gree has 9 series 1000 kinds of commercial air conditioners for satisfying different demand from different customers in different climate.

In January 2008 in South Africa, Gree's commercial air conditioners won the bid for projects for 2010 World Cup including main stadium and office building as well as Gautrain project in Gauteng.

Ms. Dong Mingzhu, president of Gree, said "Gree will have its place in global commercial air conditioning field!" After being No.1 in residential air conditioning market for several years, Gree obviously speeded up its steps in global commercial air conditioning market.
