Gree Donated Totally 20.52 Million RMB to Sichuan Quake Ravaged Area

After Gree Group's donation 19 million RMB (about 2.73 million USD) to Sichuan quake hit-area, sales companies of Gree Air Conditioners from all over China donated another 1.5 million RMB (about 215,000 USD) on May 17. Until then, Gree Group had donated totally 20.52 million RMB (about 2.95 million USD) to the quake ravaged area.

Mr. Zhu Jianghong, board chairman of Gree Group said, supporting and helping sufferers were the traditional moral excellence of Chinese people, and also the incumbent on an enterprise. Gree people were concerning about victims after the powerful quake, and would support them as well as the rescuing with all Gree could do.

After the powerful quake ravaged Sichuan on the afternoon of May 12, Zhu Jianghong had donated 8.5 million RMB (about 1.22 million USD) to the area at the morning of May 14, which had made Gree the first enterprise donated in Zhuhai City.

On May 15, Gree staffs gathered spontaneously at the square in the headquarters of Gree Electric Appliances in Zhuhai to participate the donation activity. Tens of thousands of staffs queued on the square, management took the initiative to donate first, all of these created a moving and impressive atmosphere. The 1.24 million RMB (about 177, 702 USD) donated by all Gree staffs was another charity after the first 8.5 million RMB donation by the enterprise.

The powerful quake in Sichuan deeply worried every Gree staff, every picture with ruins, every eye that asking help and every moving story sorrows Gree people. On May 16 and 17, subsidiary companies and Gree sales companies all around the country donated once again to victims. Until then, Gree Group had donated totally 20.52 million RMB, becoming the biggest donator in household electric industry.
