Two Innovation achievements of Gree Selected as National Science and Technology Projects
A few days ago, the Ministry of Science and Technology revealed the list of 2008-2009 National Science and Technology Projects. Once again, two innovation achievements independently developed by Gree Electric Appliance (Gree) were listed there. Among them, "The Research, Manufacture and Industrialization of Sine-wave Driven Inverter Air Conditioner" is listed as a State Torch Program project; "QX-34 High Capacity Hermetic Type Back Pressure Rotary Compressor" developed by Gree's solely-funded company - Zhuhai Landa Compressor Co., Ltd., was listed as a project of National Key New Product Program.
Early this year, Gree's digital heat-recovery VRF system and Crown Series floor standing air conditioners that with new slide door were respectively selected as a project of State Torch Program and a project of National Key New Product Program. Following that, two more innovation achievements independently developed by Gree were selected as national science and technology projects and recognized by governmental science and technology organs.
The State Torch Program serves as a guiding plan for China's development of hi-tech industry. Each year the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC makes selections from projects nationwide and organizes implementation thereof. National Key New Product Program is a policy-based guiding plan implemented by the Ministry of Science and Technology of PRC to promote new product development and industrialization of technological achievements.
As early as in 2007, on the technological achievement appraisal meeting organized by Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology, Gree's "Control Theory and Method Research on Sino-wave Driven 3D Inverter Air Conditioner" was unanimously appraised by the authoritative expert panel as attaining the advanced technology level among similar products of the world.
By now the technology has been widely applied in a series of new hi-tech products, such as Gree's bedroom air conditioner "Admiral +" and "Admiral" series.
