Gree Air Conditioners Climbed Up 5,358 m Snowy Peak

Recently, to the joy of staff working on China Mobile Communication Base which is located in Qinghai-Tibet Plateau and has an altitude of 5,358 m, they enjoyed the earliest spring breeze - from the Gree air conditioners transported and installed by Gree employees with great efforts!

Dubbed "Roof of the World", Qinghai-Tibet Plateau boasts clear skies, flowing clouds, outlandish snow-covered landscape and breath-taking sceneries. However, it also comes with thin air, high altitude and chilly climate, perennially covered with snow all year round. If the ambient temperature of the working environment for outdoor unit is too low, the air conditioner's heating mechanism will be weakened or even fail. To keep the air conditioner running well under such critical environment while producing good heating effect has long been a technological issue to the air conditioning industry worldwide. In spite of this, Gree successfully gave a solution to this technical difficulty with its independently developed technology for heating at ultra-low temperature. By virtue of its own strength, Gree soared to the 5000m-high land. It succeeded in having its air conditioners run at the snowy peak at an altitude of 5,358 m, breaking the record for altitude for installation and proper running of air conditioners. From then on, the logo of Gree will shine on the untraversed snowy peak which for a long time deemed as a zone impossible for using air conditioners. Both Gree and China take pride in it.

When receiving the challenge, the crew of Gree in Tibet, bearing a strong sense of responsibility and mission in mind, headed for the 5358 m-high China Mobile Communication Base.

Though the day they set out was sunny, the road lying ahead would be tough with rough, bumpy roads, and they would be exposed to stimulation of snow light to eyes, shortage of oxygen on plateau and many unknown dangers. Bumpy all the way, they finally arrived at the base, but unfortunately, the mobile base was located on a cliff and there was no road for directly transporting the air conditioners. The only way was to manually pull the equipment up to the base. After determining certain points, they tied the air conditioners tight with ropes. Some Gree staff stood ahead and beside the air conditioners to pull up the equipment, while some stood below the air conditioners to lift and push them with hands, shoulders and heads. The thin air rendered it impossible for them to dragging the air conditioners at full speed. Therefore, these staff had to exert themselves to pull and rest alternately, lips turning green due to biting while exertion. Though wearing operation gloves, their hands were so tightly strapped due to the heavy weight of the equipment that they bore deep impression strips that lingered long. Those lifted them with shoulders also had stripes of blood stains caused by abrasion.

For quite a few times they almost slipped due to the critical land lie. In spite of this, teeth clenched and out of breath, they did not abandon the work; instead, they encouraged each other and dragged, pulled, hauled, pushed, carried and lifted the goods... The moment the goods finally arrived at the destination, all present couldn't help cheering up! When the first breeze of warm air was blown out of Gree air conditioners, those working at the mobile communication base grasped the hands of the installers passionately and said: "We have been looking forward to this moment for many years. Thank Gree, thank you for bringing warmth to us!"
It is learnt that to bring the comfort of modern technology to the people of Tibet, Gree has been developing air conditioners for 3,000m altitude and above. Though it has made a success in doing that for an altitude of 5,358m, they are still striving for an even better result.
